Can Morata Fill The Space Costa Tried To Fill After Drogba Left??
From the era of Ron Harris, Charlie Cooke and co, Chelsea can never forget the effect which the Ivorian Striker; Didier Drogba left at Chelsea! The sensational striker who always focuses on getting goals and winning games for Chelsea will forever be a legend at Chelsea.
At Stamford bridge, chants have been dedicated to Didier Drogba, and his name not just on the lips of every fan but also in their hearts.
After 254 appearances, Drogba scored 104 goals, won 172 games with C helsea and lost 30.
During and after the era of Didier Drogba, from Shevcheknko to Quaresma and a host of others, some other strikers have come and gone, but it’s really hard to overshadow the achievements of Drogba.
But we have to give it to the Spaniard; Diego Costa who came and created a major impact! The arrogant striker who is known to cause tension in the pitch with his style of play, came to the English Premier League and stamped his name in the sand of time! No coach would watch him play and not want him to be on their side. No fan would witness his dominance on the pitch and not want him to be their front man! Always hungry for goals! Always wants to win! A major torn on the flesh of defenders and the English press always found something to write about him, on and off the pitch. Diego Costa was awesome!
After 89 appearances, Costa scored 52 goals, won 56 games with Chelsea and lost 18.
But the big money came and loyalty failed it’s test as Costa left Chelsea for greener pastures, forcing Chelsea to look for a replacement.
The came Morata. The man from Real Madrid is expected to fill the shoe of Costa who tried to fill that of Drogba. Big shoe! iN 6 appearance he has scored 6 goals including a hat trick, won 4 games with Chelsea and lost 1.
But so far so good, morata has been awesome! Started hitting noted by scoring with his head. And then bagging a hatrick against stoke and proving he can not only score with his head, but also with his legs.
Now is the real question…. Can Morata fill the space which Diego Costa tried to fill after Didier Drogba left? Will there ever be another replica of Drogba, or someone even better than him? Time will tell. But for now we continue to watch Morata play on the pitch, enjoy his runs and goals, and see if he can beat the reach!
