The final season of Game of Thrones is in 2019, but fans of the movie can have their own 7 Kingdoms in this new Game of Thrones Hotel in Finland! Lapland’s new Snow Village in Ylläs, Finland, is completely themed around the fantasy series, with White Walker sculptures in the rooms and ice dragons lurking in the corridors. Although there is no Fire, but in this Kingdom (Hotel) everything is concentrated on Ice and Snow!
This Hotel is not in the filming location of The Game of Thrones movie, but this Lapland village looks very much like the Seven kingdoms!
The Snow Village is the brainchild of brothers Rami and Tomi Kurtakko who were in charge of construction, and Janne Pasma – the trio teamed up with HBO Nordic to create the ice hotel.
There are 24 rooms – 10 of which are the stunning suites boasting GoT features such as dramatic White Walker sculptures.
There’s a very special ice version of the Iron Throne, guarded by The Mountain (who somehow looks even more terrifying when he’s made of ice?
The hotel boasts an ice restaurant that can seat up to 120 people, an ice bar, lounge, an ice chapel where you can actually get married, a slide, theatre and plenty more.
The ice and snow sculptures are jaw-droppingly intricate.
Approximately 350,000kg of ice was used to create the hotel.
The White Walker is particularly terrifying – and boasts eyes that light up for a truly spine-tingling finish!
Double rooms start from €220 a night (approximately £195), while suites start from €294 (approximately £260).
Beware of the ice dragons lurking in the corridors!
While the show’s characters are in for a long winter, in the real world the seasons are much shorter – so you’ll want to visit quickly before the construction melts away during the summer.
It’s the ultimate winter destination for Game of Thrones fans.
Artists from Finland, Latvia, Poland, Ukraine and Russia all contributed to the impressive structure.
