Caleb University Lagos has been selected to host the maiden edition of Hult Prize as students answer the United Nations Challenge and go head-to-head for US$1m.
This was stated in a press released signed by Ezekiel Bassey, the Hult Prize Campus Director for the
Institution. Hult Prize is the worlds largest student competition for the creation of new social businesses.
The annual Hult Prize awards one million dollars in start-up funding to the team of students that
develops the most racial and breakthrough idea to solve one of our worlds toughest social challenges he said.
In partnership with the United Nations, the Hult Prize is hosting college and university events around the world in search of the next game-changing Start Up. Ezekiel Bassey will be leading the Hult Prize Team at Caleb University on Campus Program and he is really confident that his peers on campus possess in them ideas radical enough to go all the way with this years Hult Prize. When asked if his institution can go far in this years Hult Prize, here is what Ezekiel had to say.
“I strongly believe that my institution has what it takes. Yes, we may not have been exposed to competitions like this prior to this time, but it doesn’t mean we have not been preparing. The world should watch out for us!”
The winner of the intra-campus event will automatically advance to compete in one of fifteen regional
finals happening around the world. One winning team from each host city will then move onto a summer business incubator, where participants will receive mentorship, advisory and strategic planning as they create prototypes and set-up to launch their new social business. A final round of competition will be hosted in September, where the winning team to be awarded the $1,000,000 prize.
Hult Prize at Caleb University Lagos is now recruiting volunteers and teams who are interested in
registering for the competition.
